Meet Brenda Barnett and Jodie Robinson, founders of The Healing Cowgirl.
After a health journey took Brenda below 100 lbs., with conflicting prescribed medications, increased medical bills and years of no answers, she was at a loss. She needed answers and was still nowhere closer to understanding why her health was failing and how to turn things around. “Traditional medicine had failed me, so I began researching other healing methods to try and treat my symptoms. I experimented with myself. All natural methods, of course, but some helped, some didn’t, some are not for the faint at heart, but I needed answers. I needed to be able to function and take care of my kids.
One product, that added value to my health journey was hemp. I began selling, what was supposed to be one of the best CBD’s on the market. After sending it off to a laboratory, the certificate of analysis showed the product wasn’t as advertised. I was shocked.
As I began brainstorming the vast health benefits of hemp, I knew I wanted to help as many people as possible and I asked my sister if she would partner with me to bring her marketing experience into the fold and her passion for helping animals.” Explains Brenda.

The Healing Cowgirl was founded by Brenda Barnett. Initially, Brenda was looking for ways to help her show horses deal with the stress and physical strain of competition, while personally fighting a long list of health issues that would begin to take over her life. What she eventually discovered was the same basic product, CBD, would also change her life.
Brenda spent years traveling from doctor to doctor and was prescribed dozens of different medications, but still had no answers and no relief in sight. “I was having anxiety attacks, dizziness, pain, brain fog and significant weight loss. Most of those medications I took didn’t feel like they worked for me, sometimes they even made me feel worse. I thought I was going crazy, because of the side effects and the fact that so many of my doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong, suggesting it might be all in my head.”
Brenda said enough is enough! She decided to take matters into her own hands and became an advocate for her own health as well as her animals. She would come to learn she had Autoimmune Disease. “Your immune system actually sees some of your own cells as invaders and begins attacking them,” explains Brenda.
